Application
This product is suitable to extract proteins from bacteria and cultured animal cells, and compatible with any protein purification systems, including but not limited to affinity, ion exchange, hydrophobic chromatography. The detergent mix included in the XpresLytica Cell Lysis Reagent can be removed, if necessary, from the protein by washing during chromatography, by dialysis or ammonium sulfate precipitation. The final purity and yield of the recombinant product is usually higher than that obtained from classical traditional extraction methods. This is because the crude protein solution containing the non-ionic detergent eliminates much of the non-specific binding that occurs during chromatography. The mild detergent does not interfere with many enzyme assays or protein assays.

General description
This reagent is designed to efficiently lyses cells and extract proteins from both Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria that is difficult to lyses. This is accomplished using the standard ExpresLytica Cell Lysis Reagent , which is a proprietary blend of non-ionic detergents with several protease inhibitors and other components. Lysozyme (pae Cat No: C1359) and DigestAll (a Benzonase equivalent from pae, Cat No: C1280 ) can facilitate extraction efficiency and increase protein yield.
