Three high-sensitivity, high-resolution and high-speed camera heads and two types of control unit are available to meet all research needs and purposes, from advanced research to inspection records, and biological or industrial use.
Camera head lineup
High-definition color camera head DS-Fi2
The high-definition 5-megapixel camera DS-Fi2 delivers high-resolution images of up to 2560 x 1920 pixels. Its CCD control circuit offers the fast frame rate of 21 fps (Display mode: 1280 x 960 pixels) and enables easy searching for an observation area and focusing.
High-definition cooled color camera head DS-Fi1c
A Peltier device coo mechanism has been incorporated into the 5-megapixel CCD camera that delivers high-resolution images of up to 2560 x 1920 pixels. This mechanism keeps the CCD at 20°C below its uncooled state to produce high-contrast images with less heat-induced noise. It is ideal for the imaging of weak-light structures under fluorescence and darkfield microscopy.
High-speed, live display, color camera head DS-Vi1
Features a high frame rate, 2.0-magapixel CCD. Displays SXGA live images (1600 x 1200 pixels max.) at 15fps (29fps max.). The DS-Vi1 balances smooth live image movement and high resolution.

Control unit lineup
Standalone control unit DS-L3
The stand-alone controller and its large display monitor enable image capture without a computer. Touch-panel intuitive operation allows the setting and control of a camera by simply choosing the observation technique using the “scene mode” icons. Simple measurement functions, such as distance measurement between two points, are available. The DS-L3 can also be used to control the ECLIPSE Ni-E and Ci-E biological microscopes.
PC-use control unit DS-U3
With the high-speed IEEE1394b interface, DS-U3 fully emphasizes the camera head performance, such as the large number of pixels and high speed. Using optional imaging software NIS-Elements, DS-U3 allows effective capturing, management, processing and analysis of images and movies, and data exporting. DS-U3 also supports the control of the microscope and peripheral devices, and the building-up of a microscope system.
